Great local brewery with a great atmosphere. Family friendly and relaxed.
Limited or no food available onsite, depending on the weekend, so be prepared to bring your own. That said, there's zero problem with having a pizza delivered (we've done so on more than one occasion) directly to the brewery.
This place seems to be a love it or hate it brewery. I hate it. It's pretentious, overpriced, and the beer is horrible. I'll give them credit for trying inventive things, but they just don't work. I also don't like metal, so I had to listen to garbage music while I tried to drank the filth that they swill.
The huge manifesto on the wall sets the stage for anti-establishment theme, and the beers uphold it with gusto. New beers appear almost daily, and they are constantly pushing the boundaries and trying to improve on their success.
If a beer is well received, you might see it come back barrel aged in just about anything. If it tastes good this month, you can bet it will taste even better next time you see it. They push, refine, and push again.
This is not a place to go and have "the usual". Adroit doesn't brew usual.
If you want to go and see what real cutting edge brewing tastes like, you found it.
Kyle and Shag helped my wife and I tonight. They walked through many of the beers with us, explaining each one's different qualities. Shag was great in helping us find a couple stouts and porters which we really liked. We had a really good experience and look forward to returning.
This past summer, my friends and I took a drive up past Leesburg to Adroit Theory Brewing. Someone overheard a conversation at work about this place, they really liked it. We looked it up and went Day Trip. Excellent decision.
This is one of those super hip craft brewing places, almost to perfection. They had a mango flavored beer which I loved so much I didn't want to try anything after that. It is not a long ride, less than an hour from Fairfax. We are definitely coming back to support what these guys are doing. And to drink their beer.
