Beer Review

Review Author: Virginia Periss

Concrete Beach Brewery opened about a year ago in the new trendy, hipsterish, art district of Miami, otherwise known as Wynwood. The owner of this brewery was actually one of the founders of Magic Hat, and his experience marketing good craft beers has definitely paid off in his new endeavor. In creating Stiltsville, they basically wanted to put a craft spin on the classic European style pilsner. Consistent with this, unlike a typical European-style Pilsner which tends to have a sweet malty flavor, this beer definitely packs a bit of citrus hop punch.

She pours a clear, light yellow straw color, with almost no head. The beer has a nice citrus and floral aroma. The first thing that you notice about the beer is that it is very carbonated, with a light malt backbone, and lots of bitter hop flavor.

Overall, this beer is very crisp and dry, with a bitterness that really shines through at the end. Stiltsville is a great Miami summer time beer, especially if you're looking for something light, but flavorful. The best part about this beer is how extremely smooth and drinkable it is. It's the perfect mid-afternoon treat on those hot summer days by the beach.
