Beer Review

Review Author: Doug Fairall

You'll drink my beer, but I'll drink yours too! I could go on and on with beer dubbed Iron Maiden lyrics, but I think you get the point. Yes, this is the official Iron Maiden beer brewed with the help of the legendary Bruce Dickinson, who is a real ale enthusiast. Trooper pours a clear dark orange, perhaps closer to amber, with minimal head. It holds aromas of flowers and a distinct metal scent. \m/. Flavors are somewhat bitter with no interesting malt body. There is a small perception of an attempt to bring out golden bread flavors, but it's been left behind. The sharpness of this beer makes it an excellent pairing for food, so it's a good thing drummer Nicko McBrain has it on the menu at his Rock n Roll Ribs joint in Florida.
